Northern Kente

Northern Kente refers to the traditional handwoven textiles originating from the northern regions of Ghana, distinct from the more widely recognized Ashanti Kente. These fabrics are integral to the cultural heritage of communities such as the Dagomba, Mamprusi, and Frafra, and are commonly used to create garments like the fugu or batakari—a smock-style attire worn by both men and women.
