Bia National Park covers about 77.7 km² of tropical forest as part of a larger 306 km² conservation area, including the Bia Resource Reserve. The park is known for its rich biodiversity, including African forest elephants, chimpanzees, bongos, bushbucks, and over 130 species of birds. It is Ghana’s first UNESCO-recognized Biosphere Reserve and represents a transition zone between moist evergreen and moist semi-deciduous forest types. Visitors can enjoy wildlife viewing, hiking, and birdwatching, especially during the dry season from November to April.
