The Ankasa Conservation Area in southwestern Ghana covers about 500 sq km and is the only protected area in the country's wet evergreen tropical high rainforest belt. It includes the Nini-Suhien National Park and Ankasa Resource Reserve. Known for its rich biodiversity, it hosts over 800 plant species, 639 butterfly species, and around 190 bird species, along with elephants, bongos, leopards, chimpanzees, and primates. The area features rivers with rapids and waterfalls and offers basic camping facilities.
